Even something as solid and stable as a safe usually has a limited lifespan. In most cases, this is not even "due to their own fault" - such as outdated technology - but due to other external circumstances. The closure of a bank branch or the demolition of an entire building are such events that necessitate safe dismantling, safe removal and, in most cases, safe disposal. The problem here is not really the "portable" models, i.e. those that can be easily removed from buildings and rooms, but of course the large models that take up entire rooms or are even integrated into the architecture of the building. This usually requires extensive dismantling, as the building is often part of the structural security of the vault. Such vaults are elaborately clad and reinforced with concrete and metal structures and can often only be separated from each other again with brute force. Although so-called modular safes are generally independent objects, they can generally no longer be removed from their rooms without major construction work.
